Couples and Marital Therapy

In order to effectively guide couples and families through their unique challenges, it is essential to deeply understand the relational dynamics between the individuals involved. Our practice focuses on how shifting relationship patterns affect each person, ensuring we fully comprehend the psychological impact on every family member.

Relationships do not exist in a vacuum; personal difficulties and interpersonal strain deeply influence one another. We work collaboratively to identify tailored, multifaceted solutions to break negative cycles and restore harmony.

Key Areas of Expertise

  • Intimate Relationship Problems: Resolving communication breakdowns, emotional detachment, and chronic conflict between partners.
  • Divorce Mediation Support: Acting as a therapeutic mediator during divorce proceedings to help couples navigate legal transitions while managing intense negative emotions.
  • Interpersonal Mood Impact: Addressing how relationship distress triggers or worsens individual issues like depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and financial stress.
  • Anger and Aggression Management: Identifying the root causes of volatile interactions and introducing healthy de-escalation strategies.

Our Approach

We look at the relationship as a whole system while remaining deeply attentive to the individual experience. By assessing how shared dynamics contribute to personal "dis-ease," we help couples uncover new pathways to resolution. Whether the goal is to repair a marriage or amicably navigate a separation, we provide a structured, neutral, and empathetic environment to process complex emotions safely.

Session Logistics

  • Session Duration: To ensure both individuals have adequate time to express their perspectives and practice new relational skills, all sessions are scheduled for a minimum of 60 minutes.
  • Collaborative Structuring: Therapy may involve joint sessions as well as individual consultations, depending on the specific needs and goals of the relationship.
